Q. Is the training there safe for my child?
A. All sports carry an element of danger. Judo & Ju Jitsu are contact sports, even more so they are combative activities, but due to the maturity of our instructors and the high degree of training they receive, we hold an exceptional record for safety. Nearly all injuries we learn of in our kids’ class come from their activities in soccer, gymnastics, football, etc… We can confidently say we hold an extremely solid safety record.

Q. Is it costly for me to train with your school?
A. Not at all. First of all, our monthly dues are reasonable compared to other sports given the amount of time and quality of instruction you will receive. Training with us, which includes quality instruction, averages $9 an hr; that’s less than a movie ticket or even baby-sitting cost for a child. More importantly we do not have those constant and recurring expenses for testing fees, belt promotion fees, equipment, etc. that most other school typically have. With us you simply pay for monthly membership dues.
……. and NO ANNUAL CONTRACTS!!!

Q. Do I have to start at the beginning of the month?
A. You can start at any time during the month, we will pro-rate the month for you

Q. I have never had martial arts training AND I am not in great shape. Will it be a problem?
A. Almost all who come to us have never had martial arts training. Most are also not in top shape and even if they were, our training is so different from anything else they may have done that there is always some “getting in shape” that needs to happen. We warm up as a group every single session with a cardio-workout, sit ups, push ups, stretching exercises, etc… and the training is very active.

Q. Do you have ranks or belt colors?
A. We do. For teenagers and adults you start with white belt (6th degree), then you move to green belt (5th degree), blue belt (4th degree), brown belt (3rd degree), brown belt (2nd degree), brown belt (1st degree), black belt (1st degree), black belt (2nd degree)… Children have basically the same ranks but with half ranks between full ranks
Judo & Ju Jitsu ranks are awarded at our semi-annual promotion ceremonies. On occasion we hold a smaller promotion between the semi-annual ones and we do so as needed

Q. What do I wear while working out?
A. You would wear a white uniform, called “gi” in Japanese. A gi is durable, comfortable and traditional to martial arts. We provide those here (jacket, pants, belts).
